Complete Mystery novel and thesis statement - AR test on Tuesday
Search for Historical Fiction novel - parent signature due on Friday
 
Tuesday
Complete Writing Prompt - must be at least 1/2 page in blue/black ink or typed
 
Wednesday
Bring colored pencils/crayons/markers to class on Thursday.
 
Thursday
Create a Help Wanted ad for a pirate w/ your partner. Use construction paper and lined paper to illustrate your advertisement.

Homework 10/30-11/3

Monday
Continue working on rough draft of Personal Narrative; bring rough draft to class every day.
Maintain 3rd person voice - no "I, Me, My, Our, Your"
 
Tuesday
Bring working rough draft (75% complete) to class on Thursday; it does not need to be typed.
You will lose 10 points off your final grade if you do not have your rough draft on Thursday.
 
Wednesday
Work on corrections from peer edit; make sure to include 1 simile and 1 metaphor; include plenty of sensory details
Include the significance/importance of the event in the closing paragraph of your essay.
 
Thursday
Complete final draft of personal narrative; don't forget to underline and label simile, metaphor and sensory details.  Final draft must be typed.

Homework 10/23-10/27

Monday
Bring 3-6 items and/or photos to class on Tuesday as we start work on personal narratives; times/photos should have some importance or significance to you.
 
Tuesday
Complete chart in personal narrative packet
 
Wednesday
Begin the introduction to your essay - focus on the narrator (3rd person omniscient) and how the narrator sees/describes you and your story.
 
Thursday
Continue working on essay; you should have a working rough draft (75-80% complete) by Wed 11/1.
