Description
 Welcome to LA 6 !

I'm so lucky to have you for Language Arts because I really get to know you through your writing! We will do lots of expressive and creative writing. We will also do a lot of organized and informative writing. All writing practice is excellent because we need to be able to express ourselves with writing no matter what we choose to do in life. Communication is so key to getting what we want out of life so I consider Language Arts to be a key foundation for all other learning and experience. I can't wait to learn all about you - through listening and speaking too!
We will also study grammar, and compose poetry, and perform plays. There are some novels and short stories to read too! Lots of fun awaits you in room 506. I can hardly wait!

Assignment

These instructions are some tips for having great notes in your notebooks. This format will help you all year to find your notes and your assignments quickly. Students who get in the habit of taking notes this way right from the start are more likely to get credit for their work because it will all be easy to find.

Hint: EVERYTHING is in chronological order. In other words, everything you do will go in order of when we do it. If you don't finish something, and you need extra time, but we have moved on to something else, then try to leave a little room to finish up.

Assignment

Write a paragraph about yourself! Use the instructions from the handout you got in class today. It's also attached here if you need another copy. I can't wait to read about each and every one of you! Students who have me twice in one day need only do the autobiographical paragraph once, by the way.

Parents:  I'm so happy that I get to be a part of your child's education!
