Welcome to Ridgecrest Intermediate School, where each student is celebrated for individuality in the pursuit of excellence. It continues to be the goal of students, staff, families and the wider learning community that each student experience academic, social, emotional, and physical development and support. The journey of success is different for every student and RIS aims to support and challenge each child in the navigation to accomplish personal goals as a Raider.
Ridgecrest is a special school where staff members strive to balance instructional rigor while also supporting the “whole child”. We have two dedicated counselors whose sole purpose is to help students with both academics and social/emotional struggles. This commitment to the student body allows for all students to develop 'real world' problem-solving skills in a secure environment. In the classroom, RIS teachers focus on preparing students for the challenges of today with appropriate supports, while also looking to what the uncertain future may bring. This balanced approach results in RIS students moving onto high school as confident, compassionate, and knowledgeable young adults.
Our student body is incredibly diverse with over 13 different languages spoken on campus. This diversity is celebrated through lunch activities, regular lessons, and an expanded student support continuum for all learners.
Much of the success of the school is due to the ongoing support of families and members of the community. Our PTSA and Booster Club both offer financial support, in addition to providing enrichment activities for our students within and after the school day. This helps to create a school that is appreciated and utilized well beyond the designated school day, as many student activities are available past the final class bell of the day.
The Raiders' commitment to the current and future students is shown each and every day on the Ridgecrest campus from the teachers to the parent volunteers. We will continue to support all students and look forward to the opportunity tomorrow brings.
Thank you and Go Raiders!!
