Greetings, ELA students!

 

As discussed in class, anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort to improve their Comparative Essay grade is more than welcome to resubmit their essay. If you would like to improve your grade, please do the following:

 

1. Go to where it says "Binder" in studysync. Review the comments and annotations I provided for your essay so that you understand the strengths and weaknesses of your essay.

 

2. Confirm with me via email or in class that you reviewed my comments/suggestions and please let me know if you would like me to unsubmit your essay.

 

3. As we discussed in class, please make sure you list at the bottom of your essay how you improved your writing. (example: "added introduction" or "added textual citations").

 

**As a reminder, make sure you have the following components: 

- Introduction (foreshadows the essay)

- Main body paragraph #1 ---> the "why" (Percy)

- Main body paragraph #2 ---> the "how" (Kaplan text)

- Conclusion (concludes/summarizes essay)

- Be sure to include textual citations and support all opinions/claims with evidence!

 

4. Please let me know when you have completed your rewrite so that I know to grade your new submission.

 

Again, I am available to help you individually with your essay! We can schedule a time before school, after school, and my classroom is available during lunch for writing/homework improvement. Overall, everyone did an excellent job on their essays. However, I know some of you are eager to improve your writing! You have until the end of the year to resubmit for a higher grade. Let me know if you have any questions.
