Who should take the placement test?
1. 8TH Graders with a background in either language who plan to take Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Spanish for the first time.
2. 7th Graders with a background in Japanese or Korean language who plan to take Japanese or Korean respectively for the first time as an 8th grader during 0 period next year.
Please note the following:
• Students who are currently enrolled in Spanish or Chinese at the middle schools ARE NOT eligible to take the placement test. They should refer to the teacher recommendation.
• The purpose of the placement test is not to skip instructional years, but to accurately place those students who are coming in with an existing foundation in the language.

Registration Information will be distributed by the intermediate school counselors closer to the exam dates. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the placement test, please contact the following teachers:
