Homework 10/15-10/19 LA8 Accelerated

Monday
Begin finalizing personal narrative; focus on sensory details and emotions as you write. Remember to write in 3rd Person perspective.
 
Tuesday
Be sure to include significance of the even - why was it important to your classmate?
 
Wednesday
Begin finalizing art work; include a caption explaining the What and the Why of your illustration.  Illustrations must be hand-drawn or painted and can be either literal or symbolic of something in the story.
 
Thursday
Complete final draft of the personal narrative. Typed in Times New Roman, size 12 font with 1.5 or 2.0 spacing. Minimum of 2 pages, maximum of 2.5 pages in length.

Homework 10/15-10/19 LA8

Monday
Begin finalizing personal narrative essay; remember to include plenty of sensory details, at least 1 simile and 1 metaphor.
 
Tuesday
Be sure to include the importance of the event in your personal narrative; should be located in the conclusion of your essay.
Remember to write in 3rd person
 
Wednesday
Make final adjustments to your essay.  You must highlight or underline 1 simile, 1 metaphor and all of your sensory details.  Be sure to label sensory details as well (sight, taste, touch, smell, sound).
 
Thursday
Print final draft of your personal narrative - make sure to bring the 2 pages of directions with you to turn in as well. Must be typed in Times New Roman or Arial in size 11 or 12 font with 1.5 or 2.0 spacing.  Minimum of 2 pages - maximum of 2.5 pages.

Bring rough draft of personal narrative to class every day.

Read your mystery novel.

Read your mystery novel.
 
Thursday
Complete rough draft and bring to class along with peer edit sheet (2nd page of directions packet).  The rough draft can be hand-written or typed but you must have a hard copy for peer editing on Friday.
 
Friday is the last day you can change your mystery novel.

For the personal narrative, you may not obtain details of the actual event from the original author.  You must create events as you believe they occurred in your story.
